Interview You Banter Garth Thanks for having me on the show. Host our pleasure, how was your flight? Garth Oh, I don't fly. I drove in. Host I see, well it looks like we're about ready to begin. Intro Announcer Interview You. The show where we interview who you want to interview. Now entering our 14th season. CU host Host Good evening and welcome to Interview You. I'm your host: John Mc Firestein. Tonight's topic: year 2000 bug, human oversight or alien menace. You decide, after hearing from our guest, Jason Garth, commander of the so-called Earth Defense League. Commander Garth, welcome to the show. You look very familiar, have we met before? Garth No, uh, no we haven't. Host Well, let's get right to it then, tell us your take on the year 2000 issue. Garth Well John, I and my associates at the Earth Defense League have been monitoring the activities of extraterrestrials for over a decade and we now believe that the so-called year 2000 bug is, in actuality, an alien virus. Host Surely you can't be serious, an alien virus? An overlay of Hugh Dinkley appears over Garth's shoulder as he talks. Garth I'm deadly serious. In the late 80's there was a well documented incident where anchorman Hugh Dinkley was abducted by aliens. Sure, now he says it was just alcoholism that made him disappear for more than 2 years, but how plausible is that? I think you can easily see that alien abduction is more likely than a famous anchorman becoming an alcoholic. Besides, I was there. Host You personally witnessed Hugh Dinkley's abduction? Garth Yes I did. I was sleeping in my van down by the TV station when it happened. I heard a strange humming noise, and when I looked out I saw a hoard of small, mechanical aliens immobilize him and take him aboard their ship. I believe that during his time on the alien homeworld, he was given a computer virus and instructed on how to spread it via the internet after his return. Host This all sounds pretty far fetched, but assuming for a moment that it is true, what do you predict is going to happen? Garth Well, the virus is designed to primarily target the Earth's power grid. By knocking out power all over the planet, they will prevent us from detecting their invasion fleet until it's too late. A fleet, by the way, which is already en route to Earth. Host An alien invasion fleet, on it's way to Earth right now? What evidence do you have for such an assertion? Garth It's true! The advance party has been here for nearly 15 years. They've been recruiting assistance from people like Hugh Dinkley and targeting those of us who are aware of the plot. Host Are you saying the aliens are after you, Commander Garth? Garth Yes, of course they are. Why do you think I've had such difficulty spreading the word of the impending invasion? It's only because the doomsday hour is so near that I've risked making a public appearance like this one. Host (Shaking head) Well, Mr. Garth, I just don't think I can believe... The host stops in mid-sentence and stares as Garth is pulled from his seat and disappears in a spray of light particles, shouting -- Garth See, I told you... After Garth vanishes, the host stares for a moment, then turns to the camera and says -- Host Uhhh. Well. I don't know if Commander Garth was right...But it's certainly something to consider. Join us next week when our guest will be Gordon Twain of the Extraterrestrial anti-defamation league.
